The start of the new season is the perfect time to re-sort. I always tell my customers anything that is holed, stained, faded badly or worn at the seams it’s time to move it on.
Anything you have not worn in the last two years but is still in great condition, excluding jackets and formal dresses, needs to go as well. Donate to your favourite charity shop, give away to friends, or sell in a second-hand shop.

This is what I call my essential ‘capsule’ wardrobe and here are my ‘key’ pieces that everyone should have.
Investing in adaptable fundamentals is essential for building a practical and fashionable wardrobe. If you're buying your first coat go for a neutral tone that will go with everything and have it in your wardrobe for years to come. Being a farmer's daughter I will always look for coats with some Wool content. You will find it more comfortable to wear as wool breathes unlike synthetics and they retain heat.

Jeans have been my go to’s as soon as the cooler days kick in. I can’t go past Escape’s vast collection of denim and in particular the classic best selling Hoxton Straight Leg Paige Jeans. The stretch in these jeans feel like you are wearing your comfy pants and even better they don’t lose shape through the day. The straight leg is not too wide and still gives you a flattering leg. The higher waist will elongate your leg and you can team it with a Diesel sneaker or heal.
Always start with a black colour so you can wear them day to night.
For the looser, more relaxed look the Boyfriend Jean is a best seller. These are perfect for people with an inverted triangle shape – with smaller hips than shoulders, as well as oval and rectangle. Because of the baggier fit around the thighs, this will streamline your silhouette.

Skirts are an easy way to look effortlessly chic! Anything goes with skirts. From flared to pencil, pleated to textured. Long or short, wear what works for your body shape.
Long floaty skirts suit all body types. A maxi-skirt features an ankle to floor length and is a great summer favorite but is also the perfect go-to style on colder days.
A midi-skirt is an easy and elegant choice. Reaching the calves this midi-length accentuates your feminine shapes and an A-line midi-skirt creates a flattering and stylish silhouette which is a winning combination for women with wider hips and thighs.
The knee-length skirt sits just below the knees, so when you are sitting it sits just above but will cover your knees when standing, this is flattering and is a great style for most shapes.

As the seasons change it is time to think about your layering pieces. They can be both stylish and warm and it is worth spending the extra dollars to get a piece that has a natural fibre content. The garments with warmth should contain Merino wool, Cashmere, Alpaca or Possum. Silk or a Cotton blend are also great but not as warm.
Anything goes this season! Long or short, chunky cable knits or fine merinos, boxy or fitting, cardigans, v neck, round neck or polo’s whatever you are comfortable wearing. Knitted tops are a great way to layer up in the morning and peel off as the day gets warmer.

We love the Sorento Wrap, it is a perfect addition to your essential pieces. It is great for travelling and can be worn as a scarf, poncho, cardigan or a throw.
I Love a dress that you can wear with your jandals in the summer, or pop a pair of killer heels on and a jacket and head to a function or dinner. Every season I buy a dress and wear it to death!. Knee length is great with boots, but if your knees are not quiet like they used to be both midi or maxi are a go. A sleeve can see you through all seasons especially Spring and Autumn with changeable weather. When you are buying that one perfect dress, think about all occasions.
A great leather jacket is a must have trend that never seems to date! I consider it an absolute must in every wardrobe. Choose a style that you can wear your favourite summer dress under but can pop a sweater on in the winter and still have enough room to be comfortable.
How great is it that the timeless sneaker has stuck around! I love being able to chuck on my comfy Diesel sneakers and head out the door. I love how sneakers can be worn with most dresses to dress down your look. If your white sneaker soles are looking a little dirty, try giving them a gentle scrub with some Jiff.

Every wardrobe needs a good bag that will take you anywhere. It is all about what works best for you and your needs. For me it needs to be big enough to fit my essentials in, but not too big that it gets in the way. For your main everyday bag try choosing a neutral tone or a dull metallic so it will not clash with any other pieces in your wardrobe.

Whilst wearing your activewear outside doing something active is in, most of you, like me, don’t feel comfortable going out for coffee, lunch or doing your chores in them! If you travel a lot or have a busy family these are the all rounder pants for you.
